Paul Cleary, executive director of the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System, will retire on Dec. 1, said Donna Allen, executive assistant, in an e-mail.
Mr. Cleary has been executive director since June 2004. Oregon PERS administers the $70 billion Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, Salem.
The retirement system hopes to have a replacement in place by Nov. 1, according to a timeline provided by Ms. Allen.
