Michael Gordon was named head of BNY Mellon’s new retirement and strategic solutions group, said spokesman Mike Dunn.
Also, Douglas L. Hymas joined BNY Mellon as the country executive for Japan and general manager of its Tokyo branch.
Mr. Gordon will oversee the new solutions unit, which is designed to accommodate and anticipate the retirement needs of its clients, as well as to develop customized investment solutions. He was managing director of non-traditional solutions and special situations for BNY Mellon Investment Management. He will continue to handle those responsibilities as well.
Mr. Hymas replaces Thom Fisher, but a spokesman could offer no further details on Mr. Fisher’s plans. Mr. Fisher couldn’t be reached for comment.
Mr. Hymas had been president and CEO of ING Mutual Funds Investment Co. (Japan). An ING spokeswoman couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
