Darren Fournerat and Laney Sanders were named assistant chief investment officers of the $10.8 billion Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System, Baton Rouge, said Tonja Normand, spokeswoman.
Mr. Fournerat and Ms. Sanders replace Troy Searles, who had the title of deputy CIO. Mr. Searles left the pension fund in June to become CIO of the $3.2 billion Louisiana Parochial Employees’ Retirement System, also in Baton Rouge.
They will report to Robert W. Beale, CIO. Mr. Fournerat was LASERS’ director of alternatives and Mr. Sanders was LASERS’ manager of private equity. They will be “highly involved” with their prior duties, while other duties have been distributed among other investment staff, Mr. Beale said in a note sent by Ms. Normand. LASERS will be making further additions to its investment staff, Mr. Beale added.
