Franklin (Tenn.) Employees’ Pension Fund hired Longfellow Investment Management to run between $5 million and $10 million in an active domestic intermediate-term core fixed-income portfolio, said William E. Dahab, principal and director of research at Dahab Associates, the $84 million pension fund’s investment consultant.
The pension fund issued an RFP in April as a result of a move to active from passive strategies for the portfolio; previous manager State Street Global Advisors ran a passive portfolio.
Other finalists were Garcia Hamilton & Associates and Mesirow Financial.
Shirley K. Harmon, human resources director for the city of Franklin, was not available by press time.
