Oklahoma Police Pension & Retirement System, Oklahoma City, is searching for a passive domestic large-cap core equity manager to run approximately $350 million, said Steven Snyder, executive director and chief investment officer of the $2.2 billion pension fund.
Incumbent Mellon Capital Management can rebid.
Mr. Snyder said the search is being conducted to “see what else is out there” and is not related to performance.
Mellon Capital Management runs about $427 million in the strategy.
As of June 30, the actual allocation for domestic large cap equity was 19.2% and its target, 15%.
The RFP is available on the retirement system's website.
The deadline for proposals is 4 p.m. CDT on Aug. 5.
A hiring decision is anticipated on or after Aug. 20, with a contract start date of Oct. 1.
