Koichiro Maeda joined Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management in Tokyo as managing director and head of real estate, Japan, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.
The spokeswoman declined to say whether the position is new. Mr. Maeda couldn't be reached for comment.
In an e-mailed response to questions, the spokeswoman said Mr. Maeda's hiring “represents a reinforced commitment to the region and in particular the Japan market.”
She declined to say what portion of DeAWM's $48.3 billion global real estate business was accounted for by Japan.
Mr. Maeda comes to DeAWM from Prudential Real Estate Investors in Tokyo, where he served as a managing director.
A PREI spokesman couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
