Michael Dean joined HarbourVest Partners, an alternative investment firm that invests on the secondary market, as a principal focusing on real assets, said Laura Thaxter, principal, in an e-mail.
It’s a new position. Mr. Dean will be on a new team investing in real assets including energy, infrastructure, real estate and other commodities on the secondary market. HarbourVest recently formed its first customized fund focused on secondary purchases of real assets.
“HarbourVest has been reviewing opportunities in real assets for quite some time. We continue to see strong interest in real assets and believe this is a natural extension of the HarbourVest platform across the private markets,” said Brett Gordon, HarbourVest managing director, in a written statement.
Mr. Dean was head of real assets at consulting firm Meketa Investment Group. Kelly Guidotti, spokeswoman for Meketa, could not be reached for replacement information.
