Seventy-six U.S. venture capital funds closed on $7.4 billion during the second quarter of 2014, according to Dow Jones VentureSource's latest report released Thursday.
The top five funds accounted for 48% of the total raised in the quarter.
At $1.5 billion, Tiger Global Management raised the largest fund in Q2. Investors in Tiger Global Management's previous funds include Duke University, The Rockefeller Foundation and the William K. Warren Foundation.
Bain Capital Ventures raised the second-largest fund at $650 million, followed by GGV Capital ($622 million), Oak Investment Partners ($400 million) and Iconiq Strategic Partners ($393 million).
