Littlejohn & Co. closed its Littlejohn Fund V, a middle-market private equity fund with $2 billion, the fund’s hard cap, said spokesman Chris Tofalli, in an e-mail.
The fund exceeded its $1.5 billion fundraising target and the total capital commitments of its last fund, the $1.34 billion Littlejohn Fund IV.
Littlejohn invests in middle-market companies with revenues typically between $100 million and $800 million. It also invests in securities of stressed and distressed middle-market companies.
Investors in the fund include the $65.2 billion Virginia Retirement System, Richmond, and the $7.9 billion Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System, Phoenix.
