Eric J. Mogelof, a managing director with Pacific Investment Management Co., was appointed head of Asia Pacific.
Mr. Mogelof replaces Douglas Hodge, PIMCO's Newport Beach, Calif.-based CEO, who has overseen the firm's business in the region on an interim basis since Kim Hong, the previous head of Asia Pacific, left last year, said a PIMCO spokeswoman.
Mr. Mogelof, who will relocate to Hong Kong from New York in August, will report to Mr. Hodge.
Previously, Mr. Mogelof served as head of PIMCO's Americas institutional business and global head of PIMCO Advisory.
Melody Rollins, a New York-based executive vice president, account management, has been named head of the Americas institutional business, said the spokeswoman.
According to a PIMCO news release, Mr. Mogelof will remain a member of PIMCO's executive committee, which sets the firm's policy and strategic direction.
