Troy Searles joined the $3.2 billion Louisiana Parochial Employees' Retirement System, Baton Rouge, as its chief investment officer, Mr. Searles said in a telephone interview.
He replaced Tom Sims, who retired on June 30. Mr. Sims had been with the pension fund since 1992 and had been CIO since 2006.
Mr. Searles previously was deputy chief investment officer at the $10.8 billion Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System, Baton Rouge. LASERS spokeswoman Tonja Normand said in an e-mail that the pension fund will likely replace Mr. Searles through internal promotion, which the board will discuss at its meeting on July 25.
