Nominations are open for the 2014 Lillywhite Award, said Dallas Salisbury, president and CEO of the Employee Benefit Research Institute.
The award, established by EBRI in 1992, recognizes lifetime contributions by distinguished investment management and employee benefits professionals whose service has enhanced Americans' economic security.
Mr. Salisbury said nominations will be open until “at least late September and we may keep it open a little longer than that.”
The award is named after Ray Lillywhite, a state employee pension plan pioneer who was a co-founder of multiple educational programs and professional organizations. Mr. Lillywhite retired from Alliance Capital in 1992 after 55 years in the pension and investment field.
Larry D. Zimpleman, chairman, president and CEO of the Principal Financial Group, was the winner of the 2013 award.
Other recent winners include Nobel laureate William F. Sharpe in 2012; Jack Ehnes, CEO of the California State Teachers' Retirement System, in 2011; and Keith P. Ambachtsheer, president, KPA Advisory Services, in 2010.
The nomination form for the 2014 award is available online.
The 2014 winner will receive the award at the Pensions & Investments East Coast Defined Contribution Conference in March 2015.
