Wikimedia Foundation, San Francisco, is searching for its first investment consultant, said Garfield Byrd, chief of finance and administration, in an e-mail.
The search is the result of the foundation adopting its first investment policy, which includes a new $6 million long-term reserve fund that will be set up with the assistance of the consultant.
The foundation has $31.5 million in operating assets and $21.6 million in a short-term reserve fund.
The RFP is available on the foundation's website. Proposals are due July 31. The foundation plans to select a firm by Aug. 31.
