CalPERS is searching for a general investment consultant to the $296.3 billion pension fund’s board, spokesman Joe DeAnda said.
Incumbent Wilshire Associates can rebid. Wilshire’s contract expires June 30, 2015. The term of the contract will be five years, starting approximately on July 1, 2015.
The consultant will serve as an independent adviser and provide general investment consulting, asset allocation and risk management, ongoing education, investment policy review, external manager review, performance, and review of the investment office.
The board also serves as the investment committee for the California Public Employees’ Retirement System, Sacramento.
The RFP is available on CalPERS’ website. Proposals are due at 3 p.m. PDT Aug. 20. A CalPERS evaluation committee is expected to review the proposals in September and October. No selection date has been set.
