Sarah Aitken was appointed head of institutional business for Europe and the Middle East at Legal & General Investment Management, a spokesman said.
He said Ms. Aitken effectively replaces Hugh Cutler, who left the firm to join Och-Ziff Capital Management Group as head of investor relations. Ms. Aitken will start in September and report to Mike Craston, global head of distribution and CEO of Legal & General Investment Management America.
Ms. Aitken was previously head of distribution at Insight Investment Management, a Europe-focused role, responsible for client relationships, business development and marketing. A spokeswoman for Insight said that, following the acquisition of Pareto, which was completed in 2013, Insight appointed Philip Anker as global head of distribution. Ms. Aitken, she said, decided to leave the firm last summer, following that appointment. Mr. Anker absorbed her responsibilities.
