Colorado Fire & Police Pension Association, Greenwood Village, hired Winton Capital Management to run $200 million in a long-only global equity strategy, wrote Scott Simon, chief investment officer, in an e-mail.
Funding will come from a reduction in State Street Global Advisors' $1.2 billion passive global equity allocation.
The pension fund previously invested $40 million in Winton Capital's Diversified Futures Fund.
As of March 31, the $4.1 billion pension fund's actual allocation to global equity was 52.1% and its target 49%.
