Vince Rainforth was named national practice leader for not-for-profit retirement plans at MassMutual Retirement Services, spokesman David Potter said.
It is a new position and will support MassMutual's further expansion in the not-for-profit market.
MassMutual currently has $15.5 billion in assets under administration with 3,641 not-for-profit sponsored retirement plans, said a news release from MassMutual.
Mr. Rainforth will lead business development in the not-for-profit market and oversee a team of six.
He will report to Jon Shuman, vice president and head of markets and investment partner development in MassMutual's retirement division.
Mr. Rainforth was vice president of the tax-exempt market at Principal Financial Group, the news release said. Susan Houser, spokeswoman at Principal Financial Group, could not immediately be reached by press time for information on a replacement.
