William Landes was named deputy head of global investment solutions at Columbia Management, spokesman Carlos Melville said in an e-mail.
The position is new. Mr. Landes, who started Monday, will “set the strategic direction for Columbia's multiasset business, including product development and client solutions,” a news release said. Additionally, he will work with the investment solutions team to deliver investment strategies.
Mr. Landes reports to Jeffrey Peters, head of global institutional distribution and business solutions, and Jeffrey Knight, global head of investment solutions and asset allocation, Mr. Melville wrote.
Previously, Mr. Landes was chief investment officer of global multiasset portfolios at Gottex Fund Management. Gottex spokesman Andre Keijsers could not immediately be reached by press time for information on a replacement.
Columbia Management had $358 billion in assets under management as of March 31.
