Korawut Leenabanchong was appointed CEO of Aberdeen Asset Management’s Bangkok office, effective July 1.
Mr. Leenabanchong replaces Sujaree Junsawang, who left Aberdeen recently, said Aberdeen spokeswoman Cammy Loh. Ms. Junsawang couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
Mr. Leenabanchong was chief investment officer in the Bangkok office of UOB Asset Management.
Vana Bulbon, CEO of UOB Asset Management (Thailand), has taken on the CIO role while a search for a permanent replacement is conducted, Mr. Bulbon said.
Aberdeen’s assets under management in Thailand have grown to 41.2 billion baht ($1.3 billion) as of May 31 from 22.2 billion baht as of Dec. 31, 2011.
