Affiliated Managers Group is set to be listed in the Standard & Poor's 500 index, said S&P spokeswoman Soogyung Cho.
AMG, currently a constituent of the S&P MidCap 400, will replace Forest Laboratories in the S&P 500. Forest Laboratories is being acquired by S&P 500 constituent Actavis.
The move will go into effect after the close of trading on June 30.
AMG is an investment management company that owns stakes in a number of boutique money management, hedge fund and specialized private equity firms and had a total of $594 billion in assets under management as of March 31.
Other money managers listed in the S&P 500 include Ameriprise Financial, Bank of New YorkMellon, BlackRock, Franklin Resources, Invesco, Legg Mason, Northern Trust, State Street and T. Rowe Price Group.
