Rodney N. Sullivan joined AQR Capital Management as vice president, leading the firm's outreach program to engage clients and prospects with the firm's research ideas.
The idea of the new AQR position is “to make sure we are communicating and engaging with clients and prospects on an educational front (about AQR's research) to help them be better investors,” Mr. Sullivan said. “Better informed investors make better clients.”
Mr. Sullivan left as head, publications, and editor, Financial Analysts Journal, on May 23, said Stephen M. Horan, managing director and co-lead, education, CFA Institute, which owns the publication.
Mr. Sullivan, who had been FAJ editor since 2003, said he joined AQR on June 9.
“We do plan to replace him,” Mr. Horan said. The CFA Institute hasn't set a time frame for filling the position.
The CFA Institute is considering whether to hire an executive recruiting firm to assist in the search for candidates, Mr. Horan said, adding he expects a decision in about two weeks.
The institute posted the job listing on its website.
Luis Garcia-Feijoo, assistant professor of finance, Florida Atlantic University College of Business, who was FAJ associate editor, was named interim FAJ editor.
Mr. Garcia-Feijoo is working on a project basis in the interim position and will return as associate editor, an external part-time position, once CFA Institute hires a new editor, Mr. Horan said.
