Texas Municipal Retirement System, Austin, will issue an RFI for investment consultant services for its absolute-return and real-return portfolios, spokesman Bill Wallace wrote in an e-mail.
The RFI will be posted on the $22.96 billion pension fund's website “soon,” Mr. Wallace wrote.
Additional information on the search could not be learned by press time.
Separately, the pension fund hired two domestic midcap equity managers, pending successful contract negotiations.
Boston Co. Asset Management and Champlain Investment Partners were hired to run $200 million each in opportunistic value and core strategies, respectively.
Mr. Wallace did not provide information on the how the allocations will be funded.
As of March 31, the pension fund's actual allocation to domestic equity was 26.3% and its target was 17.5%.
