It's not every day that a money manager's foundation is recognized for being “exceptional,” but Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors Foundation gained that distinction earlier this month from Exceptional Minds, a non-profit supporting autistic young adults.
The designation is awarded to individuals or organizations that have been pivotal to the growth of Exceptional Minds.
Kayne Anderson's 3-year-old foundation has contributed $225,000 to support Exceptional Minds, said Paul Blank, Los Angeles-based managing director for strategic planning and public affairs at Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors LP.
Exceptional Minds is a non-profit vocational center and production studio for young adults with varying levels of autism. It focuses on providing participants with the instruction and experience they need to pursue careers in multimedia, computer animation and post-production fields.
“All of us at Exceptional Minds are so grateful for the ongoing support we have received from the Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors Foundation,” said Yudi Bennett, Sherman Oaks, Calif.-based director of operations at Exceptional Minds.
Ms. Bennett said the foundation has helped the program grow, “enabling our students to pursue meaningful careers that are commensurate with their strengths and talents. They are, indeed, Exceptional Heroes!”
