Mary Anne Wiley resigned from her position as managing director and head of the BlackRock exchange-traded funds unit iShares Canada, said company spokeswoman Maeve Hannigan.
Ms. Wiley announced her decision to leave the company to senior management earlier this year; she left the company last week.
Ms. Wiley could not be reached by press time. Her plans could not be learned, but Ms. Hannigan said Ms. Wiley has not yet joined another firm.
Warren Collier, managing director and chief operating officer for BlackRock's U.S. iShares business, is serving as acting head while the firm seeks a permanent replacement.
