Andrew P. Dempsey was named managing director, capital formation and business development, at Easterly Capital, a company spokesman said.
The position is new. Mr. Dempsey will join David Cody, who was also recently named to the same position at Easterly Capital, in expanding the firm's distribution capabilities and seeking new investment opportunities for institutional investors. Mr. Dempsey reports to Darrell Crate, president and CEO.
Mr. Dempsey was a managing director and chief operating officer at Fortress Investment Group's permanent capital business group. It could not be learned whether he was replaced. Fortress spokesman Gordon E. Runte did not return a phone call by press time.
