Matt Whineray, the general manager-investments at New Zealand Superannuation Fund, Auckland, was named chief investment officer of the NZ$25.5 billion (US$22.1 billion) sovereign wealth fund.
The title is a new one at New Zealand Super, reflecting an organizational change that broadened Mr. Whineray's responsibilities by bringing the fund's strategic tilting program under his purview, said spokeswoman Catherine Etheredge, in an e-mail.
Mr. Whineray's previous title of general manager-investments will no longer be used, Ms. Etheredge said.
