Diane Improta joined Rocaton Investment Advisors as managing director for defined contribution consulting, said Christopher Lyon, a partner in the investment consulting firm and head of Rocaton's defined contribution business.
The position is new. Although Ms. Improta's background “gives us more 403(b) expertise,” she also offers Rocaton “versatility” in consulting for all types of DC plans, Mr. Lyon said in an interview. “We've had a quiet presence in 403(b) plans. It's an attractive marketplace for us.”
Ms. Improta had been a partner at Hewitt EnnisKnupp where she was the 403(b) client practice leader. She had been at the firm since 1998.
Spokeswoman MacKenzie Lucas said in an interview that Hewitt EnnisKnupp plans to replace Ms. Improta, but Ms. Lucas did not have a timetable for choosing a successor.
Rocaton advises on more than $400 billion in assets, with DC plans representing about $150 billion, according to a Rocaton news release.
