According to Preqin's most recent investor survey, 39% of limited partners said they currently use the secondary market in order to meet liquidity requirements, up from 23% a year ago.
Selling fund interests to rebalance portfolios was cited by 27% of LPs, down significantly from 42% in 2013. Only 21% of respondents indicated they sell fund interests on the secondary market in order to exit poor-performing funds.
