UPDATED: Richard Tettamant resigned Thursday as administrator of the $3.4 billion Dallas Police and Fire Pension System, board member Lee Kleinman wrote in an e-mail.
The board requested Mr. Tettamant’s resignation at the Thursday board meeting.
Don Rohan, assistant administrator, was appointed interim administrator, wrote Mr. Kleinman.
Mr. Kleinman declined to provide specifics on the board’s decision, but wrote: “The board wanted to move in another direction.”
Efforts to reach Mr. Tettamant, who had been administrator for about 20 years, were unsuccessful. George Tomasovic, board chairman, did not return a telephone call by press time.
The pension fund has been involved in a prolonged dispute with the Nasher Sculpture Center over the glare of Museum Tower, a residential building in which the pension fund has a $200 million investment.
Proposed solutions are under evaluation by Hines, a development firm. Board members were updated on Hines’ progress at Thursday’s meeting, wrote Mr. Kleinman.
