Kevin Edwards was named senior investment director at Hartford HealthCare, according to David Holmgren, chief investment officer.
The position is new; he will start Aug. 1.
Mr. Edwards is chief investment officer at the University of Connecticut, Storrs. Kristina Goodnough, a spokeswoman for the $476 million UConn Foundation, confirmed Mr. Edwards will leave July 25, at which point officials will review options for his responsibilities.
At Hartford HealthCare, Mr. Edwards will be responsible for selecting managers to run the Hartford, Conn.-based hospital’s $2.7 billion in pension, endowment and insurance assets. He will also oversee the investment risk management functions for the portfolio; he will report to Mr. Holmgren.
