Andrew Smith and Bev Hendry were named co-heads of the Americas at Aberdeen Asset Management, said company spokeswoman Jessica Fuller.
They are replacing David Steyn, who resigned in May for personal reasons.
Messrs. Smith and Hendry will divide responsibilities between them. They report directly to Martin Gilbert, co-founder and CEO of Aberdeen.
Mr. Smith was acting deputy to Gary Marshall when he was head of Americas, and chief financial officer and chief operating officer for Aberdeen's Americas business. He will continue to be COO for Aberdeen's Americas business. Mr. Hendry will assume the responsibilities of CFO for the Americas.
Mr. Hendry was COO at Hansberger Global Investors. Diane Nestor, a spokeswoman for Hansberger, said that CEO Ron Holt will handle Mr. Hendry’s responsibilities.
