Peter Ball joined Kames Capital as interim head of institutional business, while the money manager searches for a permanent appointment, a spokesman said.
Mr. Ball, who has already started, replaced Jon Dadswell, who left Kames Capital in April, the spokesman said. Details of Mr. Dadswell's plans could not be learned by press time.
Mr. Ball reports to CEO Martin Davis. Mr. Ball's interim appointment follows his work with the £51.7 billion ($86.9 billion) money manager on a consulting basis. He had advised the business on strategic opportunities in the institutional market, according to a news release from Kames Capital.
“We were impressed with the advice (Mr. Ball) provided to us as a consultant, and I am delighted that he has agreed to lead the team,” Mr. Davis said in the release. “We will benefit from his considerable knowledge and experience as we seek to maintain the strong momentum we have established in the institutional market.”
Mr. Ball was previously managing director, responsible for investment consulting, at JLT Employee Benefits. He left in January and was replaced by John Breedon.
