Geraldine Sundstrom was appointed managing director and portfolio manager in PIMCO's London office, a spokeswoman said.
Ms. Sundstrom will join no later than the first quarter of next year, according to a news release. The position is new.
Ms. Sundstrom will have a senior leadership role within asset allocation at Pacific Investment Management Co., and will report to Mihir Worah, deputy chief investment officer and head of the real return and multiasset portfolio management teams.
Ms. Sundstrom was previously a partner at hedge fund firm Brevan Howard Asset Management, where she led the Emerging Markets Strategies Master Fund, according to the news release. A spokesman for Brevan Howard was not available to comment by press time.
“(Ms. Sundstrom) is another great senior (portfolio manager) hire for PIMCO,” said Bill Gross, founder and chief investment officer, in the release. “She represents an important addition of demonstrated leadership and skill as we continue to build out our multiasset group for the benefit of our clients.”
