Lauderhill Firefighters' Retirement System, Palatka, Fla., is searching for a passive domestic large-cap growth equity manager to run between $5 million and $6 million, said Barbara White, plan administrator.
The $60 million pension fund is adding a passive large-cap allocation to complement its two active domestic large-cap equity managers. Brown Advisory currently runs $11 million in growth, and Systematic Financial Management runs $12 million in value. Specifically how the new allocation would be funded from the two managers is not yet known.
Investment consultant Dahab Associates is assisting.
The RFP is available on Dahab's website. Proposals are due at 5 p.m. EDT on July 8. A timetable for a decision has yet to be determined.
Ms. White also said the pension fund is considering a search for an additional active domestic smidcap equity manager in the near future to complement current manager Loomis Sayles & Co. She had no further information on that potential search.
