Masayoshi Yazawa joined Hamilton Lane in Tokyo as a senior adviser to lead the private equity firm's business development efforts in Japan.
The position is new, a spokeswoman for the firm said. Mr. Yazawa was head of foreign securities sales at Itau Asia Securities in Tokyo. An Itau spokeswoman confirmed Mr. Yazawa's departure but declined to comment further.
Also, Steve (Sungji) An joined Hamilton Lane in Hong Kong as a senior associate in a business development role.
Mr. An comes to Hamilton Lane from Neuberger Berman Asset Management in Seoul, “servicing top-tier institutional investors,” according to a Hamilton Lane news release. David Bloomfield, a Hong Kong-based spokesman for Neuberger Berman, declined to comment.
In other moves, Josh Jacob, a Hong Kong-based vice president with the firm, was promoted to principal, with responsibility for overseeing Hamilton Lane's client services team in Hong Kong. The firm's spokeswoman said he takes over the role from Juan Delgado-Moreira, who remains the firm's Hong Kong-based managing director and head of international.
