Kevin L. Bespolka joined emerging market specialist hedge fund manager Finisterre Capital as co-portfolio manager of the Finisterre Emerging Market Debt Fund.
Mr. Bespolka is partnering with the UCITS fund’s existing portfolio manager, Christopher Watson, in this new position, part of the firm’s continued expansion, said Edward Jenkins, a Finisterre spokesman.
Mr. Bespolka will focus on local markets, FX and rates “as a complement to Mr. Watson’s strong background in emerging market sovereign and corporate debt,” according to a company news release.
Paul Crean, Finisterre’s chief investment officer, co-founder and partner, will continue in his supervisory and oversight role for the duo’s emerging markets debt fund, which totaled $365 million as of May 31.
Mr. Bespolka was a London-based managing director and head of macro strategies at Napier Park Global Capital. He was CEO/CIO of the Napier Park Global Macro Fund, which he launched in August 2008 and closed in the third quarter of 2013, said Mickey Mandelbaum, a Napier Park spokesman. Mr. Bespolka left Napier Park in the fourth quarter of 2013 shortly after the hedge fund was wound down and was not replaced, Mr. Mandelbaum said.
