Gail Strohl was named CEO of the $6.4 billion Contra Costa County Employees' Retirement Association, Concord, Calif., according to recently released board meeting minutes.
Ms. Strohl replaces Marilyn Leedom, who retired earlier this year. Information on an interim CEO was not available by press time.
Ms. Strohl had been retirement program administrator for the $2.2 billion Phoenix City Employees' Retirement System, since September. Greg Fitchet, investment officer of the Phoenix pension fund, said her last day was June 6. Cindy Bezaury, the city's assistant director of human resources and labor administrator, was named interim retirement administrator and began in the position on Monday.
The city of Phoenix has posted a job listing on its website.
