Christoph von Reiche will join J.P. Morgan Asset Management as head of Europe for its institutional business, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new, and Mr. von Reiche, who will start Monday, reports to Mike O’Brien, global head of the firm’s institutional business.
Mr. von Reiche will split his time between London and Frankfurt. His is the latest in a number of appointments to expand and further strengthen the firm’s European institutional business.
“(Mr. von Reiche) has extensive European experience of serving institutional clients; that experience will help ensure that, as clients increasingly look to more sophisticated investment strategies and solutions, we continue to provide superior, cohesive, tailored and pragmatic solutions that address the needs of our clients,” said Mr. O’Brien in a news release.
Mr. von Reiche was previously head of institutional business in Germany and Austria at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. A spokesman for GSAM said Mr. von Reiche’s responsibilities had been absorbed by other members of the team.
