The Department of Labor is looking for people to serve on its ERISA Advisory Council.
The group advises the Employee Benefits Security Administration on policy and regulation of employee benefit plans covered by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. There are 15 members who serve staggered, three-year terms and meet four times each year.
The vacancies are for people to represent employee organizations, employers, actuarial counseling, investment management and the general public. The current council members whose terms end this year are Neal Schelberg, senior partner with Proskauer Rose law firm; Ralph Derbyshire, senior vice president and deputy general counsel FMR; James English, retired secretary-treasurer of the United Steelworkers of America; Cindy Hounsell, president, Women’s Institute for a Secure Retirement; and David Kaleda, a principal with Groom Law Group.
