Ross Teverson was appointed head of strategy, global emerging markets, at Jupiter Asset Management, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new, and Mr. Teverson will join in November. Mr. Teverson will be responsible for leading the firm's emerging markets team. He will report to Stephen Pearson, head of investments at Jupiter.
“Developing our global emerging markets capability is strategically important to Jupiter,” Mr. Pearson said in a news release. “We already have a strong team of specialist fund managers in this space and (Mr. Teverson's) broad experience and skills will help us build out our strategies on a global basis.”
Mr. Teverson was previously investment director, global emerging markets equities, at Standard Life Investments. A spokeswoman for SLI said Matthew Williams had been promoted to fund manager of the Standard Life Investments Global Emerging Markets Equity Unconstrained Fund, replacing Mr. Teverson; Mr. Williams and was previously deputy manager of the fund.
