Jon Hale was named director of manager research for North America at Morningstar, according to company spokeswoman Nadine Youssef.
The position is new. Mr. Hale will assume the North American responsibilities of Scott Burns, Morningstar's global director of manager research. Mr. Hale will oversee the operations of a team of 60 manager research analysts that covers active, passive, fund-of-fund and alternative investment strategies. He will report to Mr. Burns.
Mr. Hale was co-head, investment advisory, in Morningstar's investment management group. A decision has not yet been made about filling Mr. Hale’s previous role.
