Pedro Bastos was named CEO, Hong Kong, at HSBC Global Asset Management, and regional head of Asia-Pacific.
In June, Mr. Bastos will replace Joanna Munro in those roles, said Andy Chan, a Hong Kong-based HSBC spokesman.
Ms. Munro will relocate to London to take on a new role with HSBC as global head of fiduciary governance.
Mr. Bastos currently serves as CEO of HSBC Global Asset Management Brazil and regional head of Latin America.
Alcindo Canto, current head of distribution for HSBC Global Asset Management Brazil, will take over as CEO of the Brazilian business, Mr. Chan said in an e-mail. Further announcements about the regional oversight of the firm’s Latin American business will be made in due course, he added.
