Nicholas G. Botticelli was named director of strategy and head of pension portfolio management at Hirtle Callaghan, said a company spokeswoman.
The position is new.
Mr. Botticelli was director of global investments at Verizon Investment Management Corp., which oversees the investment management of New York-based Verizon Communications Inc.'s $43.58 billion in pension plan assets, which includes $17.2 billion in defined benefit and $26.38 billion in defined contribution assets. A replacement has yet to be named, according to Verizon spokesman Bob Varettoni.
He will report to Jonathan Hirtle, CEO, and Tom Cowhey, chief investment strategist. Hirtle Callaghan is an outsourced CIO firm with $24 billion in assets under supervision.
