Aurora (Colo.) General Employees' Retirement Plan hired Capital Group as an active international core-plus equity manager and American Century Investments as an active international small-cap equity manager, said Thomas Connell, pension plan administrator.
Capital Group and American Century will manage $18 million and $12.3 million, respectively.
Funding is coming from a restructuring of the pension fund's international equity allocation.
The other core-plus finalists were Harding Loevner and Vanguard Group. The other small-cap finalists were AllianceBernstein and Brandes Investment Partners.
Separately, the $392 million pension fund hired Northern Trust as custodian, Mr. Connell said.
Northern Trust will replace State Street Bank & Trust, which will be terminated on July 31, Mr. Connell said.
The termination is taking place because of service issues, Mr. Connell said.
Anne McNally, spokeswoman for State Street, could not immediately provide a comment by press time.
An RFP was issued earlier this year. The other finalist was Wells Fargo Bank.
