Chris Siniakov joined Franklin Templeton Investments in Melbourne, Australia, as managing director, fixed income, and Andrew Canobi joined as director, fixed income.
Both positions are new.
Messrs. Siniakov and Canobi will develop a range of absolute-return fixed-income strategies for the Australian market, according to a Franklin Templeton news release Wednesday.
Mr. Siniakov left his previous role as a managing director and chief investment officer, Asia-Pacific, with Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management in Melbourne at the start of this year. He was replaced by BEA Union Investment veteran Elke Schoeppl-Jost.
Mr. Canobi likewise comes to Franklin Templeton from Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management, where he served as a director and senior portfolio manager, global fixed income, overseeing institutional fixed-income portfolios, according to the news release.
