Andre Clapp was named senior investment officer for public markets at Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board, Boston, said Michael Sherry, a spokesman for the $58 billion pension fund.
He replaces Sarah Samuels, who was named senior investment officer, director of public markets and investment research, at MassPRIM in October. Ms. Samuels replaced Hannah Commoss, deputy chief investment officer, public markets and director of strategic initiatives, who left MassPRIM after accepting a position at a private investment firm.
Mr. Clapp will begin at MassPRIM on June 2. He will report to Ms. Samuels.
Mr. Clapp was a portfolio manager in the international active division at GMO. Tucker Hewes, a spokesman for GMO, could not be reached by press time for information about a replacement.
