Matthew G. Jacobs was named the new general counsel for the $289.6 billion California Public Employees’ Retirement System, Sacramento, said a spokesman.
He replaced Peter Mixon, who retired last fall.
Mr. Jacobs is a Sacramento-based lawyer with expertise in white-collar crime. He previously was a partner at the law firm of DLA Piper. His start date could not be determined by press time.
