Kevin B. Huber, executive director of the Chicago Public School Teachers' Pension & Retirement Fund, has gone on medical leave, according to a statement Thursday from the board.
Jay C. Rehak, president of the $9.7 billion fund's board, was named by fellow trustees as interim director until June 30, when Mr. Huber is expected to return.
Mr. Rehak, who was first elected to the Chicago teachers fund board as a representative of active teachers in 2009, has served as its president since 2011, the statement said.
The board authorized Mr. Rehak to take a leave of absence from his duties as an English teacher at Whitney M. Young Magnet High School to serve as director, the statement said.
Mr. Rehak couldn't be reached for comment.
