Ian Pizer was appointed senior fund manager, multiassets, at Aviva Investors, a spokesman said.
The position is new, and Mr. Pizer will join the London office in the fourth quarter, the spokesman said. He will report to Peter Fitzgerald, head of multiassets.
Mr. Pizer was previously investment director, multiasset investing, and portfolio manager of the Global Absolute Return Strategies fund and the absolute-return bond strategy at Standard Life Investments, based in the Edinburgh office.
Mr. Pizer was replaced by Sebastian MacKay, an investment director on the rates team and a co-manager of the Absolute Return Global Bond Strategies fund, according to a statement provided to Pensions & Investments by a spokeswoman for SLI.
“From my previous time working with (Mr. Pizer), I know that he brings a very strong pedigree in multiasset investing,” said Euan Munro, CEO at Aviva Investors, in a news release. “I am looking forward to sharing the benefit of his investment ideas again as we continue to develop our strategies in this area.”
Mr. Munro had been global head of multiasset investing and fixed income at SLI; he was replaced by Guy Stern.
