Onex Corp. announced on Tuesday the closing of its $5.15 billion Onex Partners IV, a private equity fund that invests in large-scale, value-oriented North American businesses.
The fund surpassed the initial fundraising target of $4.5 billion, according to a news release from the company.
It is the largest fund closing for Onex Corp.
Investors in the fund include the New Jersey Division of Investments, Trenton, which oversees the investment management of the $76.5 billion New Jersey Pension Fund; $14.3 billion New Mexico Public Employees Retirement Association, Santa Fe; $12.3 billion Maine Public Employees’ Retirement System, Augusta; $5.8 billion District of Columbia Retirement Board, Washington; and $2.3 billion Houston Municipal Employees Pension System.
